Peter Yang, President
Peter founded WBG in 2013 and continues to oversee the expansion of the company.
He holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.

Tom Hughes, Vice President
Tom oversees a diverse portfolio of hospitality, recreation, commercial real estate, and property management operations across Eastern Ontario. In this role, Tom is responsible for strategic planning, operational leadership, and business development initiatives that support the continued growth and success of the organization and its properties.
Tom leads the day-to-day operational direction of the company’s assets, ensuring that each property delivers exceptional experiences for customers while achieving strong financial and operational performance. His responsibilities span a wide range of sectors, including commercial real estate, golf and recreation facilities, hospitality operations, campgrounds, marinas, and mixed-use developments.
Fast fact: Tom and his wife enjoy spending time with their 5 children, travelling, and cruising the St. Lawrence River on their boat.

Steven Venter, Director of Finance
Steven leads the Finance Department at Weaving Baskets Group, bringing over 15 years of senior financial leadership to the team. A detail‑oriented strategist, he specializes in driving financial excellence for complex organizations, notably playing a key role in multi-national group’s growth from 6 to 26 companies and its subsequent IPO.
He holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Since relocating from South Africa, he has enjoyed settling into the Cornwall community and embracing the local lifestyle.
Fast fact: Steven is a lifelong learner who loves new ideas and enjoys spending time with his family.

Kan Chen, Administration Manager
Kan is in charge of company finances, HR, and administration. A graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science, he is happy to report that his current work is far removed from his prior education.
Fast fact: A resident of Cornwall since 2015, Kan has yet to acclimatize to the Ontario winter and visits Vancouver every Christmas.

Tommy Yang, General Manager
Tommy is in charge of ensuring the company’s strategic goals are met, setting operational policies, and supporting our President’s activities.
He grew up—completed his studies in Applied Sciences—in Vancouver, BC. Now a resident of Cornwall, he is passionate about serving his chosen community by growing the company’s offerings.
Fast fact: Though he’s travelled many countries around the world, Tommy says there’s no place like home in Cornwall.

Taylor Fitzpatrick, Construction Manager
Taylor manages all aspects of WBG’s construction projects—from planning to budgeting and from design to development.
In addition to his deep construction work experience, he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with a focus on Management from Ohio Valley University in West Virginia.
Fast Fact: Taylor can often be found on the golf club fairway or on the St. Lawrence River searching for smallmouth bass.

Corey Phillips, General Manager / Superintendent, Timber Run Golf Club
With over 37 years of experience in golf course management and maintenance, Corey serves as General Manager and Superintendent at Timber Run Golf Club, where he leads daily operations and course conditions with a hands-on, detail-focused approach, helping elevate the overall golfer experience.
A graduate of Fairview College’s Turfgrass Management program, Corey has worked at prestigious private clubs including The Pulpit Club, Vancouver Golf Club, and Frog’s Breath, as well as respected public courses such as Wooden Sticks and Fort McMurray Golf Club.

Dale Seguin, General Manager, Heritage Golf Club
As General Manager of Heritage Golf Club, Dale is committed to preserving the course’s rich traditions while continually enhancing the golfing experience. He brings 34 years of managerial experience, with a strong focus on course excellence, community engagement, and operational leadership.
Born and raised in Cornwall, he is a graduate of St. Lawrence College’s Business Administration program and holds multiple trade licenses.
Fast Fact: Dale enjoys travelling and exploring golf courses around the world.

Leo Doucet, Property Manager, Cornwall Square
Leo is involved in managing the operations and marketing for Cornwall’s downtown landmark as well as assisting in the leasing activities.
He has held senior positions in commercial property management and consulting groups around the province.
Fast fact: He has held senior positions in commercial property management and consulting groups across Canada and the USA.

Nancy Wilson, Communications Coordinator
Nancy shapes the company’s voice across social media, web, and print channels. She draws on her education in graphic design, interior design, and business to support engaging brand experiences across WBG’s wide-ranging portfolio of properties.
Her creativity is enriched by her experiences living across Canada and working in a variety of industries, each adding its own flavour to her work.
Fast fact: Outside of work, you’ll find Nancy creating in the garden, kitchen or in her studio, or best of all, out and about with her dog Sam.

Marty McDonell, Maintenance Supervisor
Marty oversees maintenance across all WBG properties, both leased and operational, working closely with his team.
He is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a diploma in Horticulture and brings experience in both residential and commercial construction.
Born and raised in Williamstown, he’s proud to still call it home.
Fast Fact: Outside of work, Marty enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, whether they’re at the hockey rink in the winter or by the pool and on the boat in the summer.

Mark Murray, Executive Chef
Born and raised in Cornwall, Mark has built a diverse career across many facets of the hospitality industry. The early years of his journey gave him the opportunity to showcase his creativity through home‑style, pub‑inspired, and family‑focused cuisine.
Over the past decade, Mark has specialized in designing refined, concept‑driven menus and overseeing large‑scale offerings for groups and events.
